Shaheen Afridi Makes it to Top-5 in ICC Test Rankings for the First Time

Shaheen Afridi has reached the top five of the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings for the first time in his career. Following a convincing performance against Bangladesh in the first Test, Pakistan won by eight wickets. The 21-year-old left-arm bowler moved up three spots to fifth position. He took seven wickets, including a five-for-32 haul in the second innings of the Chittagong Test. 

Lionel Messi wins Ballon d’Or for a record 7th time

Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Lionel Messi won the men’s Ballon d’Or for a record seventh time. Alexia Putellas of Barcelona won the women’s Ballon d’Or on Tuesday. Messi led Argentina to the Copa America championship in July after losing in four major international finals. The Argentine also praised Robert Lewandowski for his outstanding performance.

Former batsman Muhammad Yousuf is likely to be batting coach Pakistan

In the upcoming home series, Muhammad Yousuf and Umar Gul may be appointed interim coaches. Interim coaches will be appointed for the series against the West Indies. Muhammad Yousuf is likely to be appointed as interim batting coach, while Umar Gul is likely to be named bowling coach. The contracts with interim batting coach Matthew Hayden and bowling consultant Vernon Flanders have expired.

AFP to organize nation’s first open javelin throw competition in Lahore

The Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) will host the first-ever National Open Javelin Throw competition on November 29 at the Punjab Stadium, Lahore. Following the incredible performance of Pakistan’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem at the Tokyo Olympics, the AFP decided to give a chance to young and promising competitors all over Pakistan.
