A Pakistani keeper-batsman has been included in Wisden’s current World Test XI as a wicketkeeper. The team was picked by Wisden managing editor Ben Gardner, Wisden website features writer Taha Hashim and Wisden India editor Aadya Sharma. Wisden appointed New Zealand captain Kane Williamson as the skipper of the side.

“I picked Mohammad Rizwan because you can just rely on him in any situation. He’ll score whatever type of runs you need and he’s very good technically,” Gardner said. Gardner said Pakistan’s opening batsman is a “man for all situations”. White-ball cricket shows that he has sound technique and is capable of batting in Tests as well.
