Pakistan’s Asim Khan on Sunday won the silver medal in Asian Pacific MMA Championship 2022, held in Pattaya, Thailand. He won the medal in 57kg category. On the other hand, Pakistan Shahzaib khan got bronze medal in 77 kg. This is one of the biggest MMA Championship in Asia. Asim Khan defeated the Thailand fighter in the semi-final.
The National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), and Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) are the two Pakistani universities to be ranked among the top 100 varsities from the Asia region. According to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2023, Islamabad-based public research university NUST moved up seven places to secure the 67th spot. NUST is followed by Quaid-i-Azam University which makes it to the 95th spot.
The federal government has issued a diplomatic passport to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif after clearance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The passport has been issued for a period of five years and was sent to the PML-N leader through the Passport and Immigration Office. The PTI government had cancelled Nawaz’s diplomatic passport after he was declared proclaimed offender by the court.

Legendary hockey player, Shehbaz Ahmed Senior has been picked as the next recipient of International Hockey Federation’s Order of Merit award. The award was approved in the 48th congress of the FIH in Lausanne, Switzerland. The former Pakistan captain is a gold medalist of 1994 Hockey World Cup while he also won a bronze medal in 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
Pakistan lost to Zimbabwe in their T20 World Cup match on Thursday by a single run — after the Zimbabweans were looking to settle a score and not just on the field. It all began when an apparent Twitter handle of a Zimbabwean claimed that they will ‘settle the matter’, all the while calling Pakistanis ‘frauds’. “Just pray for the rains to save you,” Ngugi Chasura tweeted.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s focal person on Digital Media and Technologies Ahmad Jawad resigned on Friday, claiming “government decisions come from three different places”. Jawad posted a copy of his resignation on his Twitter handle which stated that his “greatest service in politics is that [he] introduced new principles”. He added that he is resigning from his post due to the prime minister’s constraints.
Kenyan journalists have raised questions about the killing of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif and brought new details to light. In a news story published by Nation Media Group, a senior investigative reporter said the occupant in Mr Sharif’s car shot at GSU officers, according to police claims. It quoted police as saying that the incident prompted police to shoot back.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah observed on Monday that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had not been barred from contesting in future elections following the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) verdict in the Toshakhana reference against him, adding that the former premier “won’t face any problems” to contest in the NA-45 (Kurram-I) by-election scheduled to be held on Oct 30.
Arshad Sharif, Pakistan’s most loved journalist was shot dead in Kenya this morning. Arshad had the left the country after death threats were made and apparently there was a bounty on his head. Some even alleged that ‘Behind closed doors’- a documentary on the Sharif family’s massive corruption led to the death of Arshad, as he was a major contributor to the documentary.
