Gallup and Gilani Pakistan survey says divorce rate reaches all-time high in Pakistan

Gallup and Gilani Pakistan conducted a recent survey and found that divorce rates in Pakistan are at an all-time high. According to the study, 58 percent of Pakistanis think the divorce rate has increased in the country. A majority of people believe in-laws are a major cause of divorces. Divorce cases are also expected to increase due to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in 2020 and 2021.

Pakistan unveils SHAHPAR-II drone at Egypt Defense Expo 2021

The SHAHPAR-II Medium Altitude Long Endurance reconnaissance drone has been unveiled at the Egypt Defence Expo 2021, EDEX, by Global Industrial and Defence Solutions. GIDS is Pakistan’s top state-owned defense conglomerate. The Egypt International Exhibition and Convention Center in New Cairo will host the second edition of EDEX from 29 November to 2 December. 

QPA warns against those publishing Holy Quran on low-quality paper

Holy Quran Publishers Association President Kashif Iqbal warned against the use of substandard paper by certain publishers. Following the Supreme Court’s decision to make the study of the Holy Quran a compulsory subject in educational institutions, publishers are taking advantage of increased demand. He said unregistered publishers are violating rules by publishing Quran on non-standard paper. 

Karachi Safari Park’s male elephant turns out to be female after 12 years

The Sindh High Court heard from a team of six veterinary experts Tuesday that the four African elephants are healthy. However, some immediate and long-term measures are needed to address their dietary, dental, and other issues. One of the four elephants believed to be male turned out to be female during a checkup.

11-year-old Pakistani writer Aysal Waheed publishes six books on Amazon

Aysal Waheed, an eleven-year-old Pakistani writer, has published six novels on Amazon. Currently, in sixth grade, Aysal competes in a variety of international and domestic competitions. She placed fourth in the International Bulgarian Creative Writing Competition 2020. The Bulgarian ambassador in Pakistan congratulated her on her performance. One of the six books is an anthology, while the other five are solos.

Vehicles collided in huge pile-up on motorway M2 near Sheikhupura

The heavy fog on motorway M2 caused a collision involving dozens of vehicles injuring more than 20 people. It was reported that heavy fog caused dozens of vehicles to collide at three points on a highway. The Rescue 1122 team arrived on the scene and rushed 12 people to the DHQ Hospital. Several other passengers also received medical attention on the spot.

Punjab govt makes recitation of Durood Sharif mandatory in schools

The Punjab government has mandated Durood Sharif recitation during school assembly hours. Punjab’s chief secretary issued a circular on Tuesday informing schools about the decision following instructions from provincial CM Usman Buzdar. CM Buzdar stated in the circular that reciting Durood Sharif during school assembly hours would also benefit the new generation by its virtue and blessings.

Fawad Chaudhry, the minister of information, and Sikhs have condemned the shooting of a clothing commercial at Kartarpur Gurdwara. Several faithful Sikhs say it hurts their religious feelings. A model took bareheaded shots for a ladies’ clothing brand in Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur. The brand was criticized by many notable personalities for hurting Sikh followers’ emotions with the shoot.

Punjab govt to give public school students monthly stipends of Rs 3,000

The Punjab government has extended the Waseela Taleem Program to provide a stipend of Rs 3,000 for girls and Rs 2,500 for boys studying in public high schools. The Punjab government has also granted permission for the Department of School Education to enter into an agreement with Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

US blacklists tech firms in Pakistan & other countries over nuclear trade

US government has blacklisted 28 tech firms in Pakistan, China, Russia, and Japan. These companies are alleged to have been involved in the development and distribution of military and nuclear projects. The move has targeted 13 corporations in Pakistan and 12 enterprises in China. The companies are making it difficult for US companies to sell technology to listed companies.
