Punjab govt announces motorbike subsidy scheme for female workers

The Chief Minister’s Strategic Reforms unit recently introduced Phase II of its “Women on Wheels, Motorbike Subsidy Scheme” project. The company plans to give away 3,000 motorcycles at a subsidized rate to women. The campaign was launched in partnership with both the Transport Department and the Bank of Punjab, according to a press release. Motorcycles will be awarded through a merit-based balloting process.

The government will provide 24,975 in subsidies and 100% mark-up on motorbikes. In order to participate in its scheme, applicants are required to make a down payment of Rs. 27,000, followed by 12 payments of Rs. 1,856. The pink CD-70 dream motorbikes will be customized with additional features including a carrier bag.
