A delegation of Punjabi movie stars visited the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib on Monday. The delegation, which included Harby Sangha, Anita Devgan, and Hardeep Gill, reached the gurdwara through the Kartarpur Corridor. The Pakistani film and stage actors Iftikhar Thakur and Qaiser Pia welcomed the film stars at the Gurdwara via the Kartarpur Corridor.

Govt shuts down three Murree hotels for overcharging

The Punjab government has taken action against hoteliers in Murree for hiking up rents and food prices. This kept many tourists in their cars during the snowstorm. At least 23 people were killed as a result of cold and asphyxiation in the most popular destination in the country. Three Murree hotels were sealed after angry citizens vented their frustrations on social media.

Pakistan railways successfully launch country’s first-ever reefer freight train

Pakistan Railways has launched Pakistan’s first reefer freight train to provide economical and environmentally friendly solutions for freight. There are 24 containerized refrigerated reefers on this train. The vessel left the Prem Nagar dry port (Lahore) on December 2021 and arrived at Wazir Mansion (Karachi) on the following day. The Marine Group of Companies, in collaboration with PR, achieved this milestone.

IHC orders capital authority to seal Monal Restaurant today

Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered authorities on Tuesday to seal off Monal Restaurant and evict Margalla Greens Golf Club built on encroached land. Additionally, the military’s claim to 8,000 acres of Margalla Hills National Park was declared illegal. IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah issued the order to Islamabad Capital Territory Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed. The case concerned encroachments in a national park.

leopard preservation zone opens in Islamabad

The government has established a leopard preservation zone in Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) in Islamabad. The goal is to create a “balanced relationship” between humans and nature through the conservation of critically endangered species. The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) inaugurated this week the Asian Leopard Preservation Zone in Margalla Hills to protect and preserve the felines. 

IHC orders demolition of ‘illegal’ Navy Sailing Club

The Islamabad High Court ordered the demolition of the “illegal” Navy Sailing Club within three weeks. The club was established on the bank of Rawal Lake. The IHC ordered action against the former naval chief. In a brief ruling today, the IHC CJ said Pakistan’s military has an important status that is mentioned in the constitution.

Justice Ayesha Malik is set to become the first woman to serve as Supreme Court judge

Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) approved the elevation of Lahore High Court Justice Ayesha Malik to the Supreme Court on Thursday. The appointment makes her the first woman to sit on the apex court in the country. Justice Gulzar Ahmed chaired the meeting during which Justice Malik’s elevation was approved by a vote of five to four.

Sindh government to punish employers hiring labour under 12 years

Sindh police have launched a crackdown on businesses employing underage workers. Business owners who refuse to comply risk arrest. Children under the age of 12 cannot work in small shops, tyre shops, or hotels, according to senior police officers. Violators will face consequences under child labour laws.
