The government has established a leopard preservation zone in Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) in Islamabad. The goal is to create a “balanced relationship” between humans and nature through the conservation of critically endangered species. The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) inaugurated this week the Asian Leopard Preservation Zone in Margalla Hills to protect and preserve the felines.
The Margalla Hills has several well-defined trails, most of which are used by locals. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has developed six of them for hiking.
