Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered authorities on Tuesday to seal off Monal Restaurant and evict Margalla Greens Golf Club built on encroached land. Additionally, the military’s claim to 8,000 acres of Margalla Hills National Park was declared illegal. IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah issued the order to Islamabad Capital Territory Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed. The case concerned encroachments in a national park.

The judge said the court would protect the public interest. In attendance at the hearing, the climate change secretary called for the release of Islamabad’s master plan.
