Coldplay pays tribute to the late Amjad Sabri on their new album

Latest album by Coldplay, Everyday Life features the late and great qawwal Amjad Sabri. In an interview, frontman Chris Martin described ‘Church’,’ the second song on the album features two other singers.  There’s this guy who was a Pakistani singer, called Amjad Sabri who was sadly murdered and then there’s their friend Norah, a guy from Jerusalem. 

World’s longest running animation show, Simpsons could be coming to an end

World’s longest-running animated show, and longest-running US sitcom of all time, The Simpsons, could be coming to an end after 30 years. According to Danny Elfman, the man behind its famous theme tune, Simpsons is in its last year. The reason could be the show’s waning popularity in recent years, with ratings at an all-time low for its 30th season finale this year.

In a recent turn of events, Kevin Feige has announced that three new superheroes will be landing in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. Feige revealed that it would actually be Ms Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk that will show up in films, although it’s unknown whether they’ll fight alongside the Avengers in ensemble films or just as supporting players in other characters’ standalone films.

UNHCR names Mahira Khan goodwill ambassador for Pakistan

Pakistani actor Mahira Khan on Wednesday was named as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador for the country, according to an announcement the programme made on its Twitter account. Mahira said, she was grateful and honoured to be the UNHCR’s latest goodwill ambassador, as Pakistan has set an example for the world where a country has hosted refugees for the last 40 years. 

Ehd-e-Wafa runs into trouble

Shooting of the super hit drama Ehd-e-Wafa has wrapped up for 15 episodes. However, the script for the next episodes are not yet ready, only till the 17th episode and the director is not sure about them either. The entire situation seems problematic as apparently Ahad Raza Mir and Wahaj Ali two main cast members are suffering from dengue and to cope up, shootings need to be planned for 5 episodes in a row which seems impossible.

A new Game of Thrones prequel is coming to HBO

A new Game of Thrones prequel has been announced by HBO, after reportedly canceling another that starred Naomi Watts. The cable channel revealed on Twitter that it’s given a 10-episode order to House of the Dragon, set 300 years before the original series that ended its eight-season run in May. The prequel is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, HBO said.
