The Islamabad police have decided to appoint students interns in order to increase police contact with the public. This will allow them to address public complaints as soon as possible. This decision was made by IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman. Taking this action will facilitate the resolution of complaints made to the police on an immediate basis.

Komal Ali Shah has been selected as the first Pakistani for the Hiroshima-ICAN Academy on Nuclear Weapons and Global Security 2021. She is a student at the National Defence University’s Department of Strategic Studies. Nuclear Weapons and Global Security was established in 2019 and take place every year. Komal Ali Shah was one of 41 participants to be selected for this year’s program.

UN and rights groups have expressed concern over the arrest of an activist Khurram Parvez in Indian-occupied Kashmir accused of terrorism funding. The government has released more than 100 Taliban prisoners as part of a “goodwill gesture”. The release follows the Taliban’s announcement of a ceasefire earlier this month. Most of the Taliban prisoners freed by the government were being de-radicalized and rehabilitated in government-run institutions. According to one official, most released inmates have not completed the six-month mandatory de-radicalization and rehabilitation program.

The futsal community believes that selection was not based on merit.
