Komal Ali Shah becomes first Pakistani to be selected for anti-nuclear weapon academy

Komal Ali Shah has been selected as the first Pakistani for the Hiroshima-ICAN Academy on Nuclear Weapons and Global Security 2021. She is a student at the National Defence University’s Department of Strategic Studies. Nuclear Weapons and Global Security was established in 2019 and take place every year. Komal Ali Shah was one of 41 participants to be selected for this year’s program.

ICAN is a broad, inclusive campaign that aims to mobilize people around the world in support of the goal of eliminating nuclear weapons. The Nuclear Weapons and Global Security program at ICAN develops leaders who work towards nuclear disarmament. They contribute concretely to the advancement of peace and security in the world.
