Mohammad Hasnain suspended from all forms of cricket due to illegal bowling action

Youngster Mohammad Hasnain has been barred from all form national and international cricket due to illegal bowling action. The PCB banned Hasnain from further participation in the ongoing seventh edition of the Pakistan Super Leaginue (PSL) as well as any form of international cricket after a bowling examination found that his right arm exceeds the permissible 15-degree limit.

Hockey Olympian banned for 10 years for using ‘abusive language’ against PM Khan

Hockey Olympian Rashid-ul-Hasan was shockingly banned by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for ten years for his apparent use of abusive language against the country’s Prime Minister. Rashid had reportedly offensively criticized the decline of the country’s hockey on a social media platform. The 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games gold medallist, has however categorically denyied the allegations of using offensive language.

PSL Second-Best T20 League in the World, says Former England captain

Former England captain, Michael Vaughan, believes Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the second-best T20 tournament in the world after the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL). His comments came during the high-scoring encounter between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United. Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultan won by 20 runs, registering their fourth consecutive win in the ongoing tournament.

Lahore Qalandars becomes first team in PSL history to reach 200-runs mark five times

Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Lahore Qalandars became the first team to score over 200 runs in an innings.  After scoring 206 runs against Multan Sultans, which ended in a losing cause despite a huge total. In the PSL, teams have reached a two-hundred-run benchmark 18 times so far. The Lahore Qalandars have scored 200 or more runs five times. 

Shaheen Afridi becomes the first Pakistani player to win ICC Men’s Cricketer of the year award

ICC awarded Pakistani paceman Shaheen Shah Afridi the title of a cricketer of the year for his excellent performance in 2021. The youngster Afridi won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year as he took 78 wickets in 36 matches at an average of 22.20. He had the best bowling figure of 6/51.

ICC declares Babar Azam as ODI cricketer of the year

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, and star batsman have been named the ODI Cricketer of the Year by the international cricket governing body. The award is in recognition of his outstanding performance in 2021. He was the second-highest scorer and Player of the Match in both victories of Pakistan in the 2-1 series.

Fatima Sana becomes Pakistan’s first woman player to win ICC award

Fatima Sana was named Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year for 2021 by the International Cricket Council (ICC). She is the first woman to win an ICC award from her country. In a statement, ICC said the 20-year-old cricketer had impressive performances with both the bat and the ball in 2021. The all-around efforts of Fatima Sana in 2021 impressed everyone.

Pakistani boxer Muzaffar Khan wins Arabian Sea Championship title

Pakistani boxer Muzaffar Khan on Saturday won the Arabian Sea Championship title. He defeated his Afghan opponent Ahmad Samir Dawrani in Islamabad. The match was played at the Liaquat Gymnasium and lasted five rounds. The Pakistani boxer stopped the Afghan opponent in the fifth round after a four-round fight. The legendary boxer Hussain Shah and Usman Wazir attended the occasion.

Mohammad Rizwan bags ICC Men’s T20i Cricketer of the Year award

Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s star wicket-keeper, has been named the Men’s T20i Cricketer of the Year by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Mohammad Rizwan played 29 matches during the calendar year 2021 and scored 1326 runs at an average of 73.66 and a strike rate of 134.89. In addition to his bat skills, he was equally effective behind the stumps.

TikTok Becomes Official Entertainment Partner For HBL PSL 7 & 8

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a partnership with TikTok for the HBL PSL 7 and 8. The seventh and eighth editions of the most popular and highly sought-after T20 league in the world will have TikTok as the official Entertainment Partner. HBL PSL 7 will take place from January 27 in Karachi and Lahore.
