ICC declares Babar Azam as ODI cricketer of the year

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, and star batsman have been named the ODI Cricketer of the Year by the international cricket governing body. The award is in recognition of his outstanding performance in 2021. He was the second-highest scorer and Player of the Match in both victories of Pakistan in the 2-1 series.

Babar Azam made 94 in 82 balls to set the stage in the final ODI. In the match against England and other teams, he was the lone warrior representing team green.

Pakistan’s team has had a memorable year as a number of cricketers have received international awards.
