‘Technical remissions’ behind release of Shah Hussain, says Punjab government

Punjab’s prisons minister, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, in a video message clarified that Shah Hussain did not receive remission for his legal sentence for stabbing Khadija Siddiqui. Hussain has benefited from “technical remissions” which are given for blood donations and good conduct under the Constitution. Hussain, the son of a Lahore High Court lawyer, was sentenced to five years in prison for the crime.

Pakistani climber Shehroze Kashif became the youngest person to summit both Everest and K2. The climber ascended K2 8,611 metre (28,251 foot) at 8:10 a.m on Tuesday and also climbed Mount Everest in may. At the age of 17, Kashif climbed the world’s 12th highest peak, the 8,047-metre Broad Peak.

China plans to activate world’s first clean Nuclear Reactor

Chinese researchers have successfully developed detailed designs for a clean nuclear reactor that doesn’t require water for cooling. The design features a molten salt reactor that uses liquid thorium instead of uranium. This will make the reactor safer in case there is a leak. After the reactor is complete, the reactor could be ready for testing by September 2021.

Sources told that police collected video evidence of the victim being subjected to torture by the accused. Zahir Jaffer confessed to murdering Noor Mukadam, however, he kept changing his testimony regarding the reasons for her murder.

Algerian judoka sent home from Olympics after refusing to compete against Israeli opponent

An algerian judoka and his coach have been suspended and sent home after refusing to fight an Israeli athlete. Fethi Nourine was scheduled to compete in the men’s under-73kg division. He said he could not compete against the Israeli, Tohar Butbul, in the second round because of his support for the Palestinian cause.

K2 base camp manager claims to have found dead body of mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara

The K2 base camp manager reports that two bodies were discovered 300 meters below a bottleneck by a group of Nepali Sherpas. One of the bodies is said to be that of national hero Ali Sadpara. Another body is reported to be that of John Snorri. Ali Sadpara and his two foreign companions disappeared during their winter adventure on the K2 on Bottleneck.

PTI wins majority in AJK legislative assembly elections to form next govt

PTI has won the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, winning a majority of the seats, according to preliminary results. The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is now prepared to form the next government in AJK. Twenty-five PTI candidates won seats, nine of them in Pakistan. Furthermore, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) won 10 of those contests, including one in Pakistan.

Interior Ministry places Murderer Zahir Jaffer’s name on the PNIL, Blacklist and ECL

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said Zahir Jaffer’s name has been placed on a provisional no-fly list known as the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL). In addition, Rasheed said Zahir’s name will be added to the Exit Control List (ECL). On Monday, the Islamabad court extended the physical remand of Zahir Jaffer by two days.

Talha Talib misses out on Tokyo’s maiden Olympic weightlifting medal for Pakistan

The Pakistani athlete Talha Talib just missed his first weightlifting medal at the Tokyo olympic 2020 on Sunday. Talha Talib finished 5th in the competition. He was competing in the 67kg men’s weightlifting contest. He was surpassed by the athletes from China, Colombia, and Italy. In spite of the lack of a coaching staff, the 21-year-old Pakistan weightlifter showed his mettle.
