Finance Minister Miftah Ismail on Friday said that he was ashamed over highest inflation during his tenure. The inflation has now broken a 47-year-old record after Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data highlighted inflation at 27.3 percent on year-on-year basis in August 2022. Miftah Ismail, however, defended his policies.

The Indian authorities have held three Indian Air Force (IAF) officers responsible for the Brahmos missile misfire into Pakistan on March 9 and issued the termination orders after completing the probe. Pakistani athletes are not coming slow in this year’s Commonwealth Games. Judoka Shah Hussain Shah grabbed Pakistan their first medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after defeating South Africa’s Thomas-Laszlo Breytenbach to win the bronze medal fight, as other athletes also made progress in Birmingham. Weightlifter Nooh Dastagir Butt won the gold medal for Pakistan with a record lift of 405kg.
