PTI govt plans sports projects under Kamyab Jawan Program

Asad Umar revealed on Thursday that the government is implementing two projects to promote sports in the country. Umar’s tweet said that he had reviewed two new “PSDP projects for sports under Kamyab Jawan”. The projects include the development of sports academies and high-performance centers across the country. Furthermore, both initiatives will be carried out through HEC and in all Federating Units.

New Zealand cricket team to tour Pakistan after 18 years

New Zealand is set to tour Pakistan for a limited-overs series in September and October, visiting for the first time since 2003. The tour is set to start on 17 September with the first ODI in Rawalpindi. The remaining ODIs will be played on 19 and 21 September. In addition, they will play a five-match T20I series starting on 25 September in Lahore.

People of Pakistan observes Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir today

Pakistan is celebrating Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir today, the second anniversary of the current military siege of Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK). The Narendra Modi government revoked the territory’s special status on August 5, 2019. Moreover, Kashmir and Pakistan hold angst over the withdrawal of their autonomy. A number of events have been held to denounce the illegal Indian actions against the Kashmiri people. 

China launches third multi-role ‘Type-054 Class Frigate’ warship for Pakistan Navy

Chinese Navy officials announced Wednesday the launch of a warship that will enhance Islamabad’s ability to confront future challenges. China’s Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard celebrated the launch of the third Type-054 class frigate, a multirole frigate. Apparently, the new generation of multi-mission frigates is equipped with the most advanced surface, subsurface, and anti-air weapon systems.

Asim Saleem Bajwa steps down as CPEC authority chief

General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa stepped down from his position as chief of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPEC). He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan for his support. Bajwa was appointed chairman of the CPEC Authority in November 2019. Consequently, the Prime Minister announced Khalid Mansoor as the SAPM for CPEC affairs.
