Researchers in Cyprus have discovered a combination of the delta and omicron variants of Coronavirus. Leondios Kostrikis, professor of biological sciences at the University of Cyprus, calls the strain ‘deltacron’. This is in reference to its omicron-like genetic signatures found in delta genomes. As of now, Kostrikis and his team have found 25 cases of the virus.

Dr. Mohiuddin transplanted a genetically modified pig heart into a terminally ill patient. They implanted the heart of a pig that was genetically modified and bred to save human lives. Bennett is the first person ever to receive a pig heart transplant.
