Journalist Mohsin Baig claims PM Khan ordered FIA to torture him

Journalist Mohsin Baig who was detained in a raid has claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to torture him. Baig is currently in police custody and was held for making ‘derogatory and demeaning’ remarks on a news channel last week about the premier and Minister of Communications Murad Saeed.

A team led by Pakistani scientist, Yasir Siddique, has developed a promising solar cell technology that sets two new world records of efficiency in the lab. The approach could help foster clean energy initiatives to combat the global warming issue.  Siddique has designed and fabricated solution-processed Copper Indium Sulphu Selenide (CISSe) solar cells. The cell falls in emerging trend of Tandem solar technology and is now most efficient in its category.

River Ravi found out to be world’s most polluted, poses a ‘threat

River Ravi, flowing through Punjab’s capital, Lahore has been found to be the world’s most polluted. The river contains active pharmaceutical ingredients posing a ‘threat to environment and human health’. A study on pharmaceutical pollution of the world’s rivers conducted at the University of York detected pharmaceutical particles including paracetamol, nicotine, caffeine and epilepsy and diabetes drugs in the river.

Police In Muzaffargarh save blasphemy-accused from being lynched

Police thwarted an enraged mob’s attempt to lynch a man accused of blasphemy in Muzaffargarh, arriving just in time to take the victim to a secure, undisclosed location. The man was allegedly spotted burning pages of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque. The complainant in the case confronted the man before locking him in a room and calling police.

PIA opposes decision to allow Air Arabia to enter local market

The Pakistan Inter­national Airlines (PIA) has asked the prime minister to reconsider a reported move to grant domestic flying rights to Air Arabia. Reportedly, PIA along with local stakeholders disputed the move as it would have serious ramifications for domestic airlines which are already struggling for survival. ‘Bismillah’ found on 195 million-year-old marble discovered in Turkey

The marking that appears to form ‘Bismillah’ was found on a marble slab in a quarry in Turkey’s Mediterranean province of Antalya. The figure that appeared on the stone attracted attention of miners while the stone was being processed. While 195 million years old remains were found in the content of the marble, the marking is believed to have occurred naturally.

Four dolphins imported from Ukraine for entertainment shows die in captivity

Four dolphins imported from Ukraine for entertainment shows in the country have died in captivity. The dolphins were initially brought to Lahore by a private company along with two sea cats, which have now been sent back to Ukraine. The import permit for the dolphins and sea cats in Lahore was issued by the Punjab Wildlife Department.

TV anchor Iqrar-ul-Hassan gets beaten up during recording of his show

News Anchor Iqrar-ul-Hassan, has allegedly been attacked and beaten during the recording of his show Sare Aam. The anchor and his team were on a mission to expose an IB officer’s corruption with video proofs and were allegedly attacked by Director IB Syed Mohiuddin Rizwan and his team. HE was immediately rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi where he was given first aid.
