No place for history: Four men arrested in KPK for shattering ancient Buddha statue

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has arrested four men who shattered an ancient Buddha statue found during construction work in the province’s Takhtbhai area of Mardan. Videos surfaced on social media showing a man breaking with a hammer a life-sized statue of Buddha, parts of which were still embedded underground. KP police later tweeted that pieces of the broken statue were recovered. 

Three years later, India’s major channel turns to Pakistan for quality content

After imposing a ban on entertainment content from Pakistan in 2016, India’s Zee Entertainment Enterprise has decided to broadcast Pakistani shows worldwide again. The shows will be broadcast through Zindagi, a tab available on its digital app Zee5. Zindagi will not only feature Pakistani content already aired but also roll out fresh shows by engaging Pakistani producers, directors and actors. 

All Pakistani pilots working for Vietnamese airlines have valid and legitimate licences

A month after grounding all Pakistani pilots, Vietnam has stated all the pilots flying for their airlines have valid and legitimate licences. A note from the Pakistani embassy to the Vietnamese government, states that none of the pilots have been involved in a flight incident or safety threat. It also said that there are no fake licences, as mentioned by the media.

Pakistan normalizes breastfeeding first time with lactation cabins at airports

Breastfeeding publicly has always been a trouble in Pakistan due to lack of lactation friendly spaces. For the first time, the Civil Aviation Authority in Pakistan has installed ‘breastfeeding box’ at Lahore and Islamabad airports to normalize the simple act of lactation. Separate booths have been set up at domestic and international lounges and the idea will be reciprocated at other airports too.

Diamer-Bhasha: Protests come from Sindhis and India over dam construction

Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the construction site of Diamer-Bhasha Dam on Wednesday and inaugurated the project which was envisioned 50 years ago. However, shortly after his visit, people of Sindhi raised their voice against building of another dam on River Indus. India also lodged a protest to Pakistan and China over their joint efforts to construct Diamer-Bhasha Dam in disputed Kashmir.

Credentials of Pakistani pilots working in almost all foreign airlines valid

 The Aviation Division has said that credentials of almost all Pakistani pilots working in foreign airlines have been confirmed. Since the news about dubious licences made waves internationally, airlines in 10 countries had demanded proof of valid flying licences for their Pakistani pilots. Of the 176 such pilots, 166 have been verified as authentic by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) Pakistan.
