Indian man tries to cross border to meet girlfriend in Pakistan, gets caught by BSF

BSF troops caught a 20-year-old man last week from near the international border in Gujarat’s Kutch, who was trying to cross the border to meet his girlfriend in Pakistan. According to the troops, the man was trying to cross the border through Rann of Kutch area to meet a girl from Karachi, with whom he was in contact through Facebook and Whatsapp. 

Seventh grader brings to life ‘Pashtoon heroes’ by writing a book

Bilawal Latif Dawar, a seventh grader from Peshawar, beat boredom of staying at home by writing a book about the greatest Pathan personalities, calling it ‘Pashtoon Heroes’. The 12-year-old loves to read and write and wanted to utilize his hobby effectively to counter the negative narrative built about Pakhtuns. It took Bilawal three years to write the book.

Massive asteroid approaching Earth on July 24, says NASA

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has warned of a massive asteroid, travelling at the speed of 48,000 kilometres per hour, is expected to whiz past Earth this week. According to NASA, “Asteroid 2020 ND” will move past Earth on July 24. Two other asteroids are also expected to whiz past Earth on Sunday named 2016 DY30 and 2020 ME3. 

85 infants under age 1 have tested positive for coronavirus in Texas so far

Eighty-five infants under age 1 have tested positive for coronavirus in one Texas county since mid-March. In Nueces County number of new coronavirus cases skyrocketed in July after a flattening trend. The virus has infected dozens of babies and local officials are urging people to practice caution.The spokespersons are using the statistic to illustrate that no one is naturally immune to this virus.

Teacher helps students in tribal areas despite losing both legs in blast in 1999

Lost both his legs and an arm in a bomb blast in 1999 but not his hopes. Gulzar Hussain, a 28-year-old, differently-abled trained educationist teaches at school in Parachinar, helps children in tribal areas. Hussain received his early education by going to his school on a donkey’s back, and eventually got a master’s degree in Islamic Studies, and a Primary Teachers Certificate (PTC).

KP’s first transgender person with MPhil degree wishes to stop dancing but society won’t let her

The first transgender person of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with an MPhil degree has said that she would leave her role of a dancer as soon as she manages to secure a dignified job. Chocolate, who hails from Charsadda has an MPhil degree in finance and accounting. Chocolate says that ‘dancing’ is not her profession by preference, but because there’s no other alternative.

200 million saplings to be planted across country in PM’s monsoon drive

The country’s largest ongoing monsoon tree plantation season 2020 is expected to meet a target of planting around 200 million saplings across the country. The monsoon tree plantation season that will continue for three months and end on September 30. Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the ‘Monsoon Tree Plantation and Protection Campaign 2020’ by planting a sapling in Kahuta on July 17. 

Not always a good idea to eat raw fish, Sashimi gives woman live worm in tonsil

A woman in Japan visiting the doctor with an irritated throat was told that a worm was living inside her tonsil. Upon examination medics identified a black worm — which was 38 millimeters (1.5 inches) long and still moving — inside the woman’s left tonsil and removed the creature using tweezers. The 25-year-old had consumed assorted sashimi five days before arriving at the hospital.

Inspired by Dirilis: Ertugrul, KTN to release its own historical drama

Dirilis: Ertugrul fever is far from over in Pakistan, even so the series has  inspired a local channel to produce a drama based on Sindh’s history. Kawish Television Network (KTN) Entertainment just released a teaser for their upcoming drama, which will be called ‘Raj Rani’. In the trailer actors clad in metallic looking costumes can be seen doing some intense sword fighting.

15 more pilots suspended for having dubious licences taking the total to 93

The Aviation Division, on Friday, suspended 15 more pilots raising the number of suspended pilots to 93. The 15 are among the 262 pilots possessing suspicious licences. The licences of 28 others have already been cancelled. The suspended pilots will not be able to undertake any flying duty and their licences have been cancelled after proper legal procedures.
