Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem qualifies for javelin throw final in Tokyo Olympics

The Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem qualified for the final of the javelin throw competition in Tokyo on Wednesday. It is the first time any Pakistani athlete has qualified for the final of any track and field event. Moreover, Arshad competed in group B, where he had to throw at least 83.5m to qualify for the final.

The police have registered a case in Islamabad regarding an ‘obscene’ photo shoot in front of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait. A complaint of obscene acts in public has been filed by Police under Section 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has banned forced labor and domestic employment of children under 14 years of age. In response to domestic worker concerns, the KP Assembly passed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Based Workers Bill, 2021.
