The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has banned forced labor and domestic employment of children under 14 years of age. In response to domestic worker concerns, the KP Assembly passed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Based Workers Bill, 2021. Moreover, the law requires employers to provide structured appointment letters to domestic workers providing salary and other details about work.
Furthermore, employers are required to give their employees one month’s notice of dismissal or resignation as well as a salary for the entire month. People are only allowed to work eight hours a day according to the bill. However, employees will be compensated for overtime work if they choose to do work of their own free will.
