China to invest $15 Bn in Pakistan’s petrochemicals sector

Several Chinese companies are prepared to invest fifteen billion dollars in Pakistan’s petrochemicals industry. This was stated by Federal Secretary Board of Investment, Fareeha Mazhar while talking to APP in Islamabad on Sunday. China will invest in the petrochemical sector in Gwadar, including the energy pipeline from Gwadar to China, she said.

Fareeha Mazhar said bilateral talks are underway to invest in various projects related to Chinese investment in Pakistan. She said it was hoped that Chinese companies would invest in Pakistan in fields such as energy, agriculture, tourism, and others in the future.

Chinese investment in Pakistan nevertheless sends an important message to investors who were skeptical about investment safety in Pakistan after the threat to New Zealand’s cricket team.
