NCOC allows Hindus to celebrate Dada Parbriham in Tharparkar

National Coordination Committee (NCC) allows the Hindus to celebrate their annual festival with strict adherence to the SOPs. Minister of Planning Asad Umar provided Hindu community members the opportunity to celebrate the annual event, Dada Parbriham, in Tharparkar. Moreover, the festival takes place from June 21st to 24th in Tharparkar’s Veri Jhap.

Govt decides to make teaching of the Holy Quran mandatory in schools

The Holy Quran will now be part of all Pakistani schools’ curriculums for the coming academic year. The Holy Quran teachings are now mandatory in schools of federal capital territory, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Moreover, legislation has already been introduced in the federal government, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and AJK.

Hunza bans concerts and shows after‌ recent rave party obscenity

A case against the organizers of a music and dance festival in Hunza’s Gojal has been filed for spreading obscenity. The organizers were heavily criticized due to viral videos and pictures. Additionally, on June 16th, the Gulmit police station received a complaint from a youth organization against the event’s organizers. Allegedly, the incident took place from June 12 to June 15 in Passu.

Lahore Police arrests Former JUI leader Aziz ur Rehman for sexual assault of students

Former JUI leader Mufti Aziz ur Rehman has been arrested in Mianwali along with his son. There was a video of Rehman that went viral recently where he was seen abusing a student. A police case was registered against Aziz ur Rehman and his sons. Apparently, Rehman’s sons had been blackmailing the victim. In addition, this case arose after a student complained about it.

COMSTECH offers 500 scholarships for Palestinians at Pakistani universities

The COMSTECH, OIC-backed‌ ‌organization, in partnership with the Association of Public Sector Universities of Pakistan(APSUP), has announced 500 scholarships for Palestinian students and scholars. Iqbal Choudhry, COMSTECH’s coordinator general, announced that 370 scholarships have been committed by 24 institutions members of the APSUP. Moreover, 130 scholarships will be provided by public sector universities that are members of the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence.

PIA becomes the first airline worldwide to fly with a fully vaccinated crew

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the first airline in the world that successfully completed the vaccination of all its pilots, flight attendants, and ground crew members. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal Arshad Malik noted that the airline will ensure the safety of not only passengers, but also its employees. Punjab govt signs pact to construct small & intermediate dams

The Punjab government recently signed a pact to build small & intermediate dams to improve water supply. In a ceremony, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the provincial irrigation ministry and NESPAK. Consequently, modern drone technology will be used to evaluate the feasibility of building small and intermediate dams.

PIA Air Safari flies on its inaugural flight with 91 passengers

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) launched its first Air Safari flight as a way to promote tourism in Pakistan. The airline’s first scenic Safari flight left Islamabad International Airport with 91 tourists, including foreign nationals from13 countries. Sadpara Air Safari will operate from the Islamabad airport every Saturday, and a one-way ticket will cost Rs25,000.

Time Higher Education (THE) ranks Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology as the best university in Pakistan and among the top 30 universities globally. The GIK Institute was ranked highly in Pakistan and internationally purely based on its quality education. Statue unveiled in honor of Abdul Sattar Edhi by sculptor Ishaq Lehri in Quetta

A life-size sculpture of Abdul Sattar Edhi was unveiled in Quetta this week as a fitting tribute to his services. A 16.5-feet tall statue was crafted by sculptor Ishaq Lehri. The founder of the largest volunteer ambulance network in the world, Edhi died on July 8, 2016, in Karachi. In addition, Edhi dedicated his entire life to helping the poor of the country.
