Pakistan’s inflation rose to a 14-year high of 24.93 percent on a year-on-year basis in July, the country’s statistics bureau said on Monday, with experts attributing it to falling currency and rising commodity prices. In July, food prices increased by 10.28 percent, energy and housing by 4.98 percent and transport by 3.88 percent, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The wreckage of the ill-fated Army Aviation helicopter, which went missing a day earlier, has been found. ISPR has confirmed that all six passengers onboard have embraced martyrdom in the crash. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the wreckage was found in the Musa Goth area of Windar in Lasbela district. The unfortunate accident occurred due to bad weather as per initial investigations.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said on Tuesday the PTI had received “prohibited funds” as it announced a unanimous verdict in a years-long investigation into the funding sources of the entity.
