TTP declares end to ceasefire with government

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended a month-long truce on Thursday arranged with the aid of the Afghan Taliban. According to them, the government breached a prisoner release agreement and a negotiating committee agreement. In their agreement, both sides accepted the role of mediation to be played by the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (IEA).

According to the mediator, both sides would form five-member committees to discuss the next course of action and demands of each side. The TTP said it was not possible to extend the ceasefire under these circumstances.
