Haleon Launches Global Pain Management Institute in Pakistan: A Transformative Step in Healthcare

Haleon, a global leader in consumer health, has taken a revolutionizing step for pain management by launching the Haleon Pain Management Institute (HPMI) in Pakistan. The inaugural event at Lahore’s Faletti’s Hotel marked a key milestone in Haleon’s mission to elevate pain management standards worldwide and is an important indication of thought leadership at the company. That Pakistan has been chosen as the launch country for this global initiative is reflective of the importance of the region in advancing healthcare solutions. The institute will offer advanced resources, education and tools to healthcare professionals, enhancing patient outcomes.

The launch event was steered by Mr.Farhan Haroon, CEO of Haleon Pakistan and brought together global and local healthcare experts, including international leaders at Haleon including Charles Leslie, Global Business Lead for the Pain Portfolio & Systemics (Panadol and Advil) and Meltem Asim, Area Expert Marketing Director at Haleon.

Prior to the event was the signing of MoUs with leading organizations, including MARHAM, OLADOC, and the Pakistan Association of Family Physicians (PAFP). These partnerships aim to develop educational campaigns to enhance healthcare professionals’ skills, promote better patient understanding and behavior change, advance scientific research in pain management and improve public access to pain management education and resources. Through these collaborative efforts, Haleon seeks to foster innovation and elevate the quality of pain management services in Pakistan and beyond.

A core event highlight was a keynote address by Dr. Bart Morlion, Director of the Leuven Centre for Algology and Pain Management on “Understanding & Accepting Pain at Every Stage of Life”. The address shed light on how pain manifests across different life-stages and emphasized the importance of tailored management strategies.
