Kuwait bans entry of ships carrying goods to and from Israel

Kuwait has prohibited the entry of commercial vessels carrying goods to and from Israel into its territorial waters. Rana Al-Faris, minister of public works and state minister of communications and information technology, announced the ban over the weekend. The Kuwaiti ban stands in sharp contrast to the practices of other Gulf nations.

Israel established diplomatic relations and trade with Bahrain and the UAE 14 months ago. Since then, shipping links between the two nations have grown significantly.
