PIA becomes the first airline worldwide to fly with a fully vaccinated crew

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the first airline in the world that successfully completed the vaccination of all its pilots, flight attendants, and ground crew members. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal Arshad Malik noted that the airline will ensure the safety of not only passengers but also its employees. Further, as a safety measure, the national carrier strictly adheres to COVID-19 SOPs.

Additionally, PIA launched a campaign in which vaccine holders were offered a 10% discount on domestic tickets. Coronavirus struck the aviation industry hard in 2020, resulting in a drastic decline in the number of flights. Prior to the pandemic, there were over 4.5 billion passengers traveling worldwide; however, this number fell to approximately 1.76  billion.
