The Malam Jabba ski resort in Swat has closed its doors to tourists once again. The site was attacked by armed attackers who destroyed barriers and vandalized other structures. This is the third time such an incident has taken place in the past two years. Authorities reported that security guards were also injured after the attackers manhandled them.
Deputy commissioner Swat reported that there was an unresolved right-of-way dispute between local residents and resort management. Management at the resort says dozens of local residents, cabin owners, and hotel owners attacked the resort on Sunday as they tried to trespass.
