Lt Gen Nigar becomes first-ever female Col commandant of Army Medical Corps

Lieutenant General Nigar Johar has been named Colonel Commandant of the Army Medical Corps (AMC). This is the first time a female has served in the position, according to Inter-Services Public Relations. She was formally installed at AMC Centre by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa who pinned badges of the new rank onto her uniform.

He also praised AMC’s contributions to ensuring high standards of healthcare in peace and war. COAS stated that AMC has always answered the call of duty during natural calamities, both inland and abroad.
