The Nelson Mandela-Graça Machel Innovation Award was won by a Pakistani organization for its social impact campaign. During the campaign, a hologram of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was displayed to advocate for an equal and inclusive Pakistan. HIVE Pakistan coordinated the campaign, titled AIK – Better Together. The organization addresses extremism and marginalization through innovative campaigns, youth-focused mentoring, and upstream mobilization.
This award was given for ‘creating positive narratives for the power of people.’ HIVE used 3D holographic technology to recreate Jinnah’s statements about interfaith harmony, the empowerment of women, and pluralism. The hologram was shown in public spaces in six cities.
