The Ministry of Railways has stated that Pakistan Railways suffered 74 accidents nationwide over a period of 11 months, between August 2018 to June 2019. Out of 74 accidents, 20 accidents were of freight trains derailing while another 20 occurred at unmanned railway crossings. US President Donald Trump’s offer to mediate on Kashmir issue has been rejected by India. In a landmark decision, Saudi Arabia has allowed women to travel without seeking male guardian’s permission. Under Saudi guardianship system, adult women were rendered as legal minors and their “guardians” — husband, father and male relatives — were allowed to exercise arbitrary authority over them. “A passport will be granted to any Saudi national who submits an application,” said a government ruling.
Noshaba Zafar, the daughter of a truck driver, has scored the highest marks in Punjab University’s history of 173 years. Noshaba, who hails from district Chakwal’s tehsil Talagang, is a BSc student from VIP Girls Degree College – an affiliate of Punjab University and has become the first student ever to score 714 marks out of 800 in BA/BSc Examination.
