Elon Musk hopes to start implanting its Neuralink chips in humans in 2022

Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain-interface company, hopes to start implanting Neuralink chips into humans this year. Musk co-founded Neuralink in 2016, which is developing a chip to implant into the brain to simultaneously record and stimulate brain activity. The device is intended for use as a medical device, including treating spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders.

The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit on Monday asked Musk about Neuralink’s plans for 2022. Musk said that Neurolink was working well in monkeys. We are actually testing a lot. The Neuralink chips can be safely removed, he added.
