The All Pakistan Private Schools’ Association has threatened the government for opposing its decision to open schools from August 15, stating if they started a campaign the “government would fall”. “If the government tries to interfere in our matters, we will do a million march,” the association’s head warned at a press conference in Islamabad.
Foreign Ministry has sanctioned $25,000 for the repair and renovation of just one bathroom of the official residence in New York of the country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations. According to a source this latest sanction of $25000 is just one extra spending on a bathroom, which is already in good condition. Around $50,000 has already been spent from Mission’s account.
BSF troops caught a 20-year-old man last week from near the international border in Gujarat’s Kutch, who was trying to cross the border to meet his girlfriend in Pakistan. According to the troops, the man was trying to cross the border through Rann of Kutch area to meet a girl from Karachi, with whom he was in contact through Facebook and Whatsapp.

The monsoon tree plantation season that will continue for three months and end on September 30. Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the ‘Monsoon Tree Plantation and Protection Campaign 2020’ by planting a sapling in Kahuta on July 17.
The Aviation Division, on Friday, suspended 15 more pilots raising the number of suspended pilots to 93. The 15 are among the 262 pilots possessing suspicious licences. The licences of 28 others have already been cancelled. The suspended pilots will not be able to undertake any flying duty and their licences have been cancelled after proper legal procedures.
A month after grounding all Pakistani pilots, Vietnam has stated all the pilots flying for their airlines have valid and legitimate licences. A note from the Pakistani embassy to the Vietnamese government, states that none of the pilots have been involved in a flight incident or safety threat. It also said that there are no fake licences, as mentioned by the media.
Two Pakistani women, Asia Jamil and Tabassum Adnan, have succeeded in making their place in the list of ten finalists for the inaugural Women Building Peace Award announced by the US Institute of Peace (USIP). The award recognizes the vital role of women who are working in fragile or conflict-affected countries in pursuit of peace and preventing violent conflict.
Breastfeeding publicly has always been a trouble in Pakistan due to lack of lactation friendly spaces. For the first time, the Civil Aviation Authority in Pakistan has installed ‘breastfeeding box’ at Lahore and Islamabad airports to normalize the simple act of lactation. Separate booths have been set up at domestic and international lounges and the idea will be reciprocated at other airports too.
Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the construction site of Diamer-Bhasha Dam on Wednesday and inaugurated the project which was envisioned 50 years ago. However, shortly after his visit, people of Sindhi raised their voice against building of another dam on River Indus. India also lodged a protest to Pakistan and China over their joint efforts to construct Diamer-Bhasha Dam in disputed Kashmir.
