The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City owned by PIA is going to be shut down because of financial issues. Built on prime land in Manhattan in 1924, the hotel was leased by PIA in 1979 along with a Saudi prince. PIA bought the hotel in 1999 for $36.5 million and in 2005 bought the Saudi prince’s share.

Pakistani artist curates country’s first complete traditional food map

Pakistani artist, Assam Altaf, has curated Pakistan’s first traditional food map. The map features 211 local foods of Pakistan, which is the world’s biggest halal food country. The map includes Pakistani food from Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab, Sindh, Kyber Pakhtunkhawa and Balochistan. Along with mentioning the cities of specific cuisines, the map also features common traditional Pakistani food.

KP government to set weight limits on school bags carried by children

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is ready to introduce a law to limit the weight of school bags carried by children. Under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa School Bags Limitation of Weight Act 2020, school bags of children in nursery class should not weigh more than 1.5kg, and bags carried by children in class one should not weigh more than 2.4kg.

Pakistan among top-ranked countries in Asia for social protection during pandemic

At a global e-conference hosted by International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), Pakistan was labelled one of the top ranked countries in Asia for its social protection intervention amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite blindness of ten years, Pakistani man works as repairman to support family

Maryam Nawaz has millions of fake followers on her Twitter account, alleges Fayyaz

Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan has alleged that Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has millions of fake followers on her Twitter account. Fayyaz revealed that out of 5 million followers of Maryam, 80% are fake. He said that most of the followers never liked any tweet. He further added that, 1898 followers created their Twitter accounts in a single day.
