Dozens of protesters yell slogans outside Nawaz’s London residence

Nearly two dozen young men gathered outside Nawaz Sharif’s Avenfield House in London on Sunday evening and yelled slogans against him. Young men in hoods and face masks gathered on Dunraven Street, across from Sharif’s home, to shout “Go Nawaz Go”. Many of them held placards saying “We stand with Pak Army”, as well as one that read “Nawaz Sharif is a thief”.

PML-N’s Talal Choudhry gets beaten by party member’s brothers over alleged harassment

PML-N leader Talal Choudhry got beaten up in Faisalabad by brothers of MNA Ayesha Rajab Baloch for allegedly harassing her. Talal suffered form head and arm injuries and underwent surgery at a private hospital in Lahore. The family of the lawyer denied any link to the incident. Chaudhry’s close associates also tried to dispel the impression that he was tortured by Ayesha’s family members.

Coronavirus positivity ratio continues to be stable in Pakistan at below 2%

Despite carrying out the highest number of tests of Covid-19 in Pakistan in one day, the positivity ratio continued to be stable at below 2 per cent. Out of a total of around 42,299 tests, only 799 came out positive. Significant build-up in Covid-19 testing is being done to carry out sentinel testing at educational institutions in order to identify early trends, if any.

India funding Islamophobia, planning misadventure: PM Imran tells UN

Prime Minister Imran Khan during his address to the UN General Assembly warned the international community that India was planning another “ill-conceived misadventure”. In his address via a video link, the PM said that India is the only country in the world with state sponsored state-sponsored Islamophobia but added that Pakistan was ready to “fight for its freedom to the end”.

Latest inquiry finds out Monal Restaurant built on CDA land

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has stated that Monal Restaurant, a popular eatery in the protected Margalla Hills National Park, is built on its land. The CDA’s report said this area is part of Chackgaa in Saidpur village, which was acquired by the CDA in exchange for money paid to locals through a land award dated Feb 10, 1965.

Sub-inspector resigns due to Lahore CCPO’s abusive behaviour

A police sub-inspector has resigned from his position alleging that the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh abused him in a meeting.  Fahad Iftikhar Virk stated in his two-line resignation letter, that he is unable to serve in the police department any more. Virk said that Sheikh called him the “son of a donkey” in a meeting.

International aviation agency advises Pakistan to suspend issuance of new pilot licenses

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has advised Pakistan to suspend the issuance of any new pilot licences in the wake of a scandal over falsified licenses. The recommendations from ICAO, a specialised agency of the United Nations that works to ensure safety in international air transport, has asked Pakistan to undertake “immediate corrective actions”.

PML-N leader met with Gen Qamar over Nawaz, Maryam issue: DG ISPR

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar has confirmed that two meetings took place between Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohammad Zubair. DG ISPR said that matters in relation with PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were discussed during the meetings.

SECP issues notices to eight officers over leak of Lt Gen Asim Bajwa’s data

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued show-cause notices to its eight officers over the issue of leakage of data of family members of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information retired Gen Asim Bajwa. Warning letters have also been issued to two employees, asking them to be careful about any suspicious movement in future.

FIA unearth billions in Suleman Shehbaz’s factory worker’s accounts

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Banking Crime Circle, Lahore, has traced secret bank accounts of the employees of Suleman Shehbaz with Rs9.5 billion deposits. The employees of the youngest son of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif worked in the Ramzan Sugar Mills and Al-Arabiya Sugar Mills. The FIA had provided details of those accounts to the joint investigation team (JIT), which was investigating the case.
