Cristiano Ronaldo breaks Ali Daei’s world record for most goal scored in International matches

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the world’s leading international goal scorer after his header against the Republic of Ireland. Ronaldo now has 111 goals in 180 appearances for Portugal in the World Cup qualifying campaign. Ronaldo has broken the record set by Ali Daei of 109 goals. Portugal finished top of their World Cup qualifying group, while Ireland remains without a point after three matches.

Indian officials hold first formal meeting with Taliban in Qatar

The Indian foreign ministry said several Indian diplomats held talks with a Taliban leader in Qatar. This is the group’s first official diplomatic engagement since taking over Afghanistan. Foreign ministry officials said Deepak Mittal, the envoy, met Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the head of the Taliban’s political office, in Doha on Tuesday. The two sides discussed the safety of Indians in Afghanistan.

Pakistani microfinance pioneer wins Ramon Magsaysay Award, Asia’s ‘Nobel Prize’

Muhammad Amjad Saqib, known as Asia’s Nobel laureate for his microfinance program that helped millions of poor families, has been awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award. He was awarded Asia’s Nobel Prize, which is given for developing one of Asia’s first zero-interest, no-collateral microfinance programs. Moreover, he was one of five recipients named after a deceased Filipino president who died in a plane crash.

China limits time children can spend playing video games to three hours a week

The Chinese government is taking increasingly drastic steps to deter young people from playing video games. Chinese authorities have banned children from playing video games during the school week. Every Friday, weekend, and holiday, children are only allowed to play video games for an hour. The National Press and Publication Administration of China have announced a new rule concerning video games.
