Alibaba’s open doors to Pakistani vendors will enable them to grow their businesses by providing several B2B services. The site plans to offer services such as advertising, payments, logistics, and daily operations. The report notes that it will also provide a one-stop B2B solution for Pakistan’s eCommerce and exports. Alibaba’s primary objective is to make it easier for Pakistani sellers to conduct business worldwide.

Pakistan gets first hemp farm to boost ‘Bhang’ production to capture international cannabidiol market

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry congratulated the Ministry of Science and Technology on the inauguration of Pakistan’s first hemp (Bhang) farm. The farm was established to increase the production of industrial hemp to tap into the multi-billion dollar cannabidiol market. The federal cabinet granted the first medical and industrial license for hemp leaves in Sept last year.

Pakistan wins 8 bronze medals at 5th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2021 in Abu Dhabi

The Pakistan Ju-Jitsu team won eight medals in single and duo competitions at the5th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2021 in Abu Dhabi. PJJF officially reported there were 468 entries from 18 countries in this mega event. Pakistan, however, only fielded eight athletes due to a lack of funding. The lockdown had been in place for over two years, preventing the athletes from receiving proper training.

First US doctor of Pakistani descent to head the American College of Physicians

The prestigious American College of Physicians has nominated Dr. Omar Atiq to be its next president. Atiq is the first physician of Pakistani descent and the only second international medical graduate to hold this position. Pakistani physicians constitute a third of the total number of physicians in the United States. Atiq is the sole candidate running for the post and elections will be held in January.
