Pakistan Post has been ranked at 67th position in the Universal Postal Union 2020 rankings. According to the 2020 report, Pakistan Post has jumped up 27 places since 2016 when it was ranked at 94th position. The Universal Postal Union is a United Nations specialized agency that publishes the annual rankings based on service, consumer confidence, reach, hard work, and dedication.

Abbottabad once again reports highest positivity ratio in Pakistan

Abbottabad once again reported the highest positivity ratio in the country, after another 1,800 Covid-19 infections surfaced on Sunday. PTA issues notices to Google, Wikipedia for disseminating ‘sacrilegious content’

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued notices to Google Inc. and Wikipedia for spreading blasphemous content through their platforms. The PTA after receiving several complaints regarding “misleading search results associated with Present Khalifa of Islam and unauthentic version of Holy Quran on the Google Play Store”, has approached the authorities “to immediately remove the unlawful content.” 

60-foot Gundam Robot in Japan has now entered testing mode

An upcoming amusement park Gundam Factory Yokohama in Japan has created an 18-meter (60-foot) life-sized replica of the RX-78 mecha (crewed) Gundam robot from various anime TV series and manga. Back in July, the robot took its first tentative steps along the road to being fully functional. During that test it appears no weight was put on the legs of the robot, which has now been rectified in a new test.

Influential UK newspapers accept mistake in accusing Pakistan for imported COVID-19 cases

Fifth Muslim country to recognize Israel is not Pakistan — Israeli minister

 Regional Cooperation Minister, Ofir Akunis, has clarified that the fifth country normalizing ties with Israel, will not be Pakistan. Israel is working toward formalising relations with a fifth Muslim country, possibly in Asia, during US President Donald Trump’s term. Akunis said there were two main candidate countries to become the next to move toward normal ties with Israel.

CDA grants Hindus permission to build cremation ground, community centre

The Capital Development Authority has granted Hindus in Islamabad permission to build a cremation ground and community centre in the city. The Islamic Ideology Council has endorsed the decision. The centre, which will have the cremation ground inside it, will be built in Sector H/9 while the Saidpur Temple and other prayer places will be handed back to Hindus as well.

Toronto Police term death of Baloch rights activist Karima Baloch as “non-criminal”

Toronto Police have termed the death of Baloch rights activist Karima Baloch, who went missing over the weekend before being found dead, as “non-criminal”. Karima Baloch, who hailed from Balochistan, was living in Canada in exile for about five years. “The circumstances have been investigated and officers have determined this to be a non-criminal death and no foul play is suspected,” the police said.
