Arrest warrants issued for Asif Zardari

Arrest warrants have been issued for former president Asif Ali Zardari in an inquiry pertaining to a money laundering case. Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal approved the arrest warrants for the former president. The arrest warrants are part of the record in the accountability court and Islamabad High Court. The PPP leader has interim bail in the case till June 10.

Huawei quietly launches 5G lab in South Korea

11-year-old Iranian girl beats Einstein, Hawking’s IQ score

Tara Sharifi, an 11-year-old Iranian student at Aylesbury High School UK, recently took the Mensa IQ test and scored 162 points, which is well above the genius benchmark of 140 points. With this score she has beaten Einstein, a theoretical physicist who is considered as one of the two pillars of modern physics, and the famous cosmologist Professor Stephen Hawking by two points.

Boney Kapoor is planning Mr. India reboot

Boney Kapoor, the late sri devi’s husband, has confirmed that he’s planning a Mr India reboot. The film-maker has expressed that after the death of wife and superstar Sridevi last year, he has more reason to remake the 1987 cult classic. He is also open to bringing original director and cast back for the reboot.

Hackers replace “BJP” with “Beef” on the party’s official website

Indian PM Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) web portal of Delhi wing has been hacked. The hackers replaced several pages of the website with recipes of Beef dishes, accompanied with the message: Hacked by ‘Shadow_V1P3R’. The navigation bar has been edited to replace word BJP with the word BEEF. “About BJP” is now “About Beef” on the website.

Malaysian PM proposes common East Asia currency for trading

At the Future of Asia forum in Tokyo, Malaysia’s PM Mohamad Mahathir proposed that East Asia should consider a common regional trading currency based on gold to promote commerce and stability, and free the region from relying on dollar transactions. He emphasised that this currency would be used for regional trade only and would not replace domestic currencies.

Alibaba looking for second listing in Hong Kong

Bloomberg news have reported that US -listed, Chinese e-commerce leader, Alibaba Group is exploring a potential second listing in Hong Kong, as early as the second half of 2019, that could raise $20 billion as Beijing seeks to encourage its tech titans to list closer to home. This listing is intended to help Alibaba “diversify funding channels and boost liquidity.”

Indian forces brutally injure at least 90 in occupied Kashmir

At least 90 people have been injured after Indian occupying forces opened fire on a crowd protesting against the ‘cordon and search’ operation in Tazipora area of Kulgam district in the Indian-occupied Kashmir. Indian troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on the crowd, critically injuring over six dozens of them. Many of the injured had been admitted to the Kulgam hospital.

Pakistani climbs world’s 4th highest peak without supporting oxygen

Sirbaz Khan has become the first Pakistani to successfully ascend the world’s fourth highest mountain, Mount Lhotse’s 8,516 meters high peak on Nepal-Tibet border, without using supplemental oxygen. Sirbaz completed the summit on May 14 at 9:47 am, and his team was the first to scale Lhotse this year as they fixed ropes along the peak to open the mountain for other climbers.

MNA Mohsin Dawar arrested from North Waziristan

Law enforcement personnel have arrested MNA Mohsin Dawar, in North Waziristan, in the aftermath of Kharqamar clash on May 26, in which three people were killed and fifteen injured as a check post in Boyya area was attacked during a protest. According to the Army’s media wing, Dawar and MNA Ali Wazir were leading PTM which attacked the check post.
