8 infants die in Sahiwal Teaching Hospital

At least eight infants died in the children’s ward of District Headquarters Teaching Hospital Sahiwal in the last 24 hours. Sahiwal DC, Zaman Wattoo, informed the authorities that infants lost their live because of abnormally high temperature in ward caused by malfunctioning AC. The DC recommended biomedical engineer Luqman Tabish be suspended for his failure to fix the AC issues.

Official letter pointing to preferential treatment has caused controversy, as State Minister Zartaj Gul’s sister, Shabnam Gul, has been appointed NACTA’s director.  Shabnam was serving as an assistant professor at LCWU in Grade-18, before her appointment as the director of key counter-terrorism body of the country. The official letter was written by  Samiul Haq, Principal Staff Officer of Zartaj Gul.

The latest ad campaign from Ikea in the UAE called the “Ikea Real Life” recreates some iconic TV living rooms. The campaign took two months to bring together, with furniture pieces enhanced by 3D digital software. The Ikea team worked closely with the creatives for months to create famous living rooms of The Simpsons, Friends and Stranger Things.

Rupee recovers to 148.21 in inter-bank

Pakistani currency dramatically recovered a significant Rs1.42 to Rs148.21 to the US dollar in the inter-bank market following the recent massive hike by central bank in the key interest rate, taking it to 12.25%, made the rupee attractive. Banks have made record investment of PKR 3.1 trillion in three-month treasury-bills in the first auction of government securities after the rate hike.
