According to the Henley Passport Index for 2022, Pakistan is ranked only higher than conflict-ravaged Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, which occupies the bottom spot. The top spot has been taken by Japan, with the country’s passport providing its holders access to 193 destinations.
A Lahore court on Tuesday sent Karachi teenager Dua Zahra to a shelter home following a court order. On Tuesday, Dua appeared before a magistrate’s court and claimed that her life was in danger as her parents were threatening her. She also claimed that they used to physically abuse her in the past. “My parents are threatening me with dire consequences,” she said.

Senior journalist Imran Riaz was offloaded from a flight from Lahore to Dubai. The journalist’s name was added to the black list by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the request of the police. Senior police officials have been informed of the removal of the journalist from the flight and his attempt to leave the country.
In 2019, Fishel Khalid, became the first Pakistani Jew to travel to Israel. Khalid, who had declared himself as a ‘Jew’ was issued a fresh passport by the Pakistani authorities, which mentioned his religion as ‘Judaism’. Khalid was in contact with NADRA since 2016 to get himself registered as a Jew and after a long battle his claim was admitted by the government.
