Zahir Jaffer carried to court in chair, lawyer says mental health has ‘worsened’

During the hearing, policemen carried Zahir Jaffer on a chair from the Bakshi khana – a temporary prison for under-trial prisoners – to the courtroom. His lawyer argued that his mental condition had deteriorated. Junior lawyer Usman Riaz Gul represented Zahir on behalf of the accused, as Advocate Sikandar Zulqarnain Saleem did not appear.
