To ensure proper patient care, KP Govt bans use of mobile phones in hospitals

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has prohibited the use of mobile phones in all government and private hospitals. To ensure that patients receive undivided attention, the authority also ordered the staff to turn off their phones before entering the wards. Mobile phones and other electronic devices were prohibited in gynecology and occupational therapy (OT) wards.

During duty hours, the use of cell phones impedes the ability to provide care to the citizens. In the hospitals, monitoring units will be set up to ensure that the instructions are followed. Violations of orders will be subject to disciplinary action.
