The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Thursday banned the broadcast of speeches, interviews and public addresses by absconders and proclaimed offenders. The development came a few hours after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif slammed the government in his second address to the PML-N’s central working committee meeting, which was aired on numerous news channels in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has claimed that PML-N supremo Nawaz Shari has India’s support to ‘weaken the army’. In an interview with a local news channel he said that Nawaz is playing a dangerous game; ‘Altaf Hussain played the same game’. The PM added that relations between government and military are the “best in history” because all institutions are working in their spheres.

Nearly two dozen young men gathered outside Nawaz Sharif’s Avenfield House in London on Sunday evening and yelled slogans against him. Young men in hoods and face masks gathered on Dunraven Street, across from Sharif’s home, to shout “Go Nawaz Go”. The Pakistan High Commission in London has received arrest warrants sent by the government for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The high commission did not make an official comment on the development but sources confirmed that the mission had received the paperwork to serve the arrest warrants on Mr Sharif. All legal formalities and procedures would be followed in this regard.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif informed the Islamabad High Court that it was not possible for him to return to Pakistan and surrender. The PML-N supremo informed the court of his inability to return through a review petition against the IHC’s order that had directed him to surrender before the court by September 10.
PML-N supremo, Nawaz Sharif’s latest medical report submitted to Lahore High Court states that the former prime minister should avoid going outside due to coronavirus pandemic. The medical reports were submitted by his lawyer Amjad Pervez in which doctors have suggested that Sharif should avoid going outside as he could contract the coronavirus which could prove to be fatal for him.

NAB has issued an arrest warrant for former prime minister and PML-N founder Nawaz Sharif in a case of giving illegal concessions on plots in 1986. Nawaz is accused of using his powers as Punjab chief minister in 1986 giving concessions to Jang Group and Geo TV owner Mir Shakilur Rehman on 54 plots in Lahore’s Johar Town.
