Pakistani batter Mohammad Rizwan beat West Indies legend Chris Gayle’s six-year-old record as the team faced Scotland in the T20 World Cup. A wicketkeeper has now achieved the record for the most runs in a single calendar year in T20 cricket. He surpassed Gayle’s previous score of 1665, achieved earlier in 2015. Currently, the new record of 1676 is held by the heroic opener.
Rizwan scored one hundred and fifteen fifties, with a high score of 104 not out. In addition, he outscored top T20 batsmen Babar Azam (1607) and Virat Kohli (1614).
