Pakistan govt lowers import taxes with Afghanistan to boost trade ties

Afghanistan and Pakistan have agreed to increase trade via the Torkham border, which will result in lower taxes on imports from Afghanistan. Local media reported that steps were being taken to ease imports from the neighboring country. Afghanistan has approved the extension of its transit trade agreement with Pakistan for six months.

Both sides addressed all the issues that local traders and transporters faced when clearing goods at the border. They also offered suggestions for removing bottlenecks in the clearance of goods as quickly as possible.
