Australian researchers have revealed that the virus that causes COVID-19 can survive on banknotes, glass and stainless steel for up to 28 days, much longer than the flu virus. Influenza A virus has been found to survive on surfaces for 17 days. In the study was published in Virology Journal, researchers highlighted the need for cleaning and handwashing to combat the virus.

Secondary school student in KP promotes reading by donating books to barbers

Over 900 books have been donated since September to barbers in the capital of Khyber Pakhtukhwa province and nearby Charsadda town by Omar Azam Khan, a student in the final year of secondary school. The small local initiative to promote reading has been welcomed by residents of the city that has only two public libraries.  

60% Pakistanis experienced mental health issues during lockdown: study

About 60 percent of Pakistanis experienced moderate to high levels of mental health issues while eight in 10 individuals showed some symptoms of mental illness during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a global research firm, IPSOS, which recently carried out a study for an organization affiliated with the Pakistan Mental Health Coalition. The organization says confinement, financial distress and job losses raised stress levels.
