The Governor of Punjab announced the construction of a Jinnah Monument in London on Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day. Dr. Nasir Awan and local business leaders will cover all expenses incurred in erecting the statue, Sarwar said. Sarwar expressed his gratitude to the UK for its support of Pakistan’s extension of the GSP plus status.
Sarwar noted that Gandhi and other important figures were honored with statues in Britain and that now a Jinnah Monument is being built to honor Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
